TheWeaver Santa Barbara: ... Barbara is a smallish beach town on the West coast of the USA, which is definitely worth a stop if you re travelling around California. While it may be less famous than some of the other town and cities you can find in this area, it has just as much to offer. This hostel we stayed in was the International Hostel and was kind of in a great location, but equally in a bad one. I say this because it is just a 5 m...

Autumnrose Hoover Dam
... my recent trip to Vegas we chose to make a day of going up to the dam driving across and parking and walking back across it to get the full experience as in just a short time the option to drive over the dam will no longer be part of the Hoover Dam experience. Just one of many things that have change since september 11th 2000. Wanting my daughter to experience things as I did when I was growing up it was important to me that we visit. As we drove up to the Dam we were greeted with wonderful views of the lake speckeled with sail boats in the distance. There were a few birds Seaguls mainly soaring above the lake. It was quite breath taking. As we rounded the bend...

... place on my must visit list when planning my round the world trip was Los Angeles. We arrived here late and tired after a 12 hours drive and weren t greeted very well at our hostel (but that s another story!). I had high expectations of LA, it s being the place of celebs and all that. We were staying on the Walk of Fame . It was really good walking down here looking out for celebrities stars and having your photos taken with them (sad, I know but I was a tourist!). Beyond this LA disappointed me. I had three days there and was ready to leave! I expected it to be happening with lots to do. We went out on St Patricks Day (the day nearly all Americans love) and i...

That was until I saw it and it turned out to be one of the highlights of an American adventure. It s not just a hole in the ground, it s a REALLY big hole in the ground. It s so vast and intimidating most of the scenery looks fake, like a cardboard cut out stood up just in front of us. I can t imagine what would happen if anyone got stuck down there. One of the best things about it was that although there were obvious restrictions to certain access points, you could just climb under them! Of course it wasn t the safest feat in the wor...
