The pale pavements reflect the day's heat right up into my face, making me feel dizzy, as I head for the Rue d'Escures. Finally there! Halfway along the road, I sigh with relief as I fumblingly open a wrought iron gate. I step inside. A whole new secret, cool, green world, hidden away in the heart of the city. My secret garden. I'm not alone, though. There are others who share my secret. I smile and nod at the homeless man sitting under the ruined arches of the 15th Century St Jacques' Chapel.
