Advantages: breathtaking views, unique flora and fauna

I was lucky to stay in Palawan, Philippines because of my medical internship a few years ago and i guess it was one of the greatest adventures i had in my entire life.

Palawan boasts its unique natural scenic views, white sandy beaches, rainforests, prehistoric caves and diving sites which ranks as one of the best in the world. Mousedeer and scaly anteaters can only be found in this island. The sea cow, locally known as "dugong", the world's rarest sea mammal can only be seen swimming in its waters.

Divers from far and near come to explore its colorful coral reefs and clear waters. And because tropical depressions and typhoons only visit this island almost only once every 10 years, everyday will surely be an a great day for any tourist to see its breathtaking views.

I was able to explore the Palawan's Underground River and to tell you frankly, I have never seen anything like it in my entire life!
It is said that this is one of the longest in the world.
The entrance to this underground river can literally take your breath away! the water is so blue, the entire place seemed too sacred to behold. The local government did not install any lights within the cave so to ensure that the natural ecosystem is not disrupted. Having only a flashlight in hand i was able to behold different stalactite formations within, hanging from the cave's ceiling some look like religious statues, others look like fruits and animals. I felt like I was in a dream, only that in this one i had my eyes open all the time.

Palawan is also a culinary haven. You will be able to taste unique mouth watering, comforting and very satisfying dishes only known in this island.

So the next time you visit the Philippines, why not include Palawan in your destination. I promise you, you will never ever regret going there.
