PaphosNewest Review: ... hotel as well as how far it is from the harbour/market. Other: There is also a waterpark in Paphos but we did not visit it, but heard very good things about it if you've got kids it may be worth looking at! I found the majority of people spoke reasonable English which made asking for directions easier! Also a lot of hotel owners/restaurants and shops are run by English people which was a ... more |

We spent a week in Paphos in September 09, booking our holiday through teletext holidays online and stayed at Agapinor Hotel, which was about a 35 minute walk from the main Harbour front. Food: We enjoyed walking through the streets around the harbour front and found there were hundreds of different places to eat. This included many restaurants, where you could order a very nice 4 course meal, to smaller cafe-style places. There was something for every one, such as Indian, Japanese,Greek, English, Italian and plenty of places which did a bit of everything! The prices were very reasonable, costing around 20euros for a main meal and drinks. In ... Read the complete review

I am not a travel writer, so if i make a huge faux-pas please forgive me. I have just returned from a trip to Cyprus, my first to this split island. This is my thoughts and ramblings about the places we visited. This one, concentrates on the hotel and surrounding area. Papheissa Hotel & Apartments, Kato Paphos, Cyprus We'd read some reviews on holiday sites about the hotel where we was to stay between booking and going, and were mildly concerned. Some people were less than complimentary about it for different reasons. For the record, we did not share the comments others had written. The hotel is split into two, with some studios ... Tourism didn't arrive in the small town of Paphos until the 1980's and I didn't arrive until December 2006. It was Christmas and I wanted to see my son who was based in Athens at the time. As I didn't really fancy spending Xmas in a bustling, over-crowded and polluted city like Athens, I chose to visit Cyprus and meet up with him there. I remember walking to the coach which was waiting outside the airport to take us on to Pathos and thinking this place looks a bit run down. I could see the sea in the background so I felt a little more cheerful but part of me kept thinking - perhaps I should have gone to Athens after all. As the coach trundled down the cronky, ... This beautiful town makes me want to grow old faster!! My parent's retired to Paphos three years ago. A wise decision since I now get to stay with them for free (and Mum does my ironing!). Flight prices vary by carrier but if you can book a full year in advance you may be able to get a good deal. Easyjet have recently taken over from BA but I've not found them particularly cheap. The town itself is lovely. The council has recently refurbished the harbour front so there isn't the bedraggled array of frontages that there was a year or so ago. Bar Street and the Tomb of the Kings Road provide most of the night life and there's the ... Read the complete review

Have you heard of the blanket trip? This is a new free excursion. It is most popular in Spain, Tenerife and the Canary Islands. Now, it is available in Paphos for the first time. What the Tour Involves I was invited to take the coach tour by PAL Promotions who have teamed up with Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook Holidays and Mercury Direct. Tourists can book this trip through their Holiday Representative via their Welcome Meetings. The coach picks up outside hotels and everyone is taken to a Factory outlet showroom where Therapeutic products, such as Orthopaedic mattresses and wool blankets are shown. I was seated at a table ... Read the complete review
