He was rude, loud and aggressive and since he was a police officer, he thought that that gives him the right to threaten us. He threw us out from the apartment because our children were playing on the balcony during the 'rest' time, 2-5 pm. Our children were completely ... more

My family and I spent approx 10 days in Parga, Greece last summer (jun, 2007). We liked the city and it's nice beaches, clear and warm sea, the narrow streets with lots of small shops and restaurants with tasty Greek food. However, we had a pretty bad experiance with accommodation. We stayed in Villa Avli, centrally located and relatively close to the beach. The apartment that we rented was nice , clean and reasonably priced, but the owner was a nightmare. He was rude, loud and aggressive and since he was a police officer, he thought that that gives him the right to threaten us. Premium Review Parga, beautiful part of mainland Greece. (431 words)

Parga is on mainland Greece and is one of those places that is revisited frequently by anyone who has been there. On my first trip there, my companions and myself were the only people on the airport transfer coach who were visiting for the first time. Landing at Preveza airport is like going back in time, the airport is somewhat old fashioned by modern standards and then we had to take a short ferry trip to get to Parga. It was dark when we arrived and the sky was lit up with lights which we thought were lasars from a nightclub. It turned out to be a thunderstorm heading our way! Sadly, we were not blessed with good weather, despite it being May ...  Read the complete review

I've visited Parga 3 times over recent years and I must say that it seems to be growing at a phenomenal rate. When I first visited, it was relatively quiet, plenty of bars and tavernas and a very peaceful row of boats sploshing in the clear blue sea. My most recent trip however saw a massive developement on the cliffs a new pier made of concrete and twice as many restaurants and bars. Don't get me wrong - I would reccomend Parga to anyone - especially families but I'm just a little worried that the small town atmosphere is turning into every other resort along the ionian sea. Anyway, Parga has lovely restaurants, the shops aren't great ...  Read the complete review

I have recently returned from a trip to Parga (last week). Parga is situated on the north west mainland coast of Greece and UK tourism is still very low key. Along with most people I flew into Preveza airport (a military and civilian airport) but I have been advised that a more pleasant and relaxed journey is via Corfu. Parga has a town beach which isn't worth bothering about. Over a ridge, 1km away is Voltos Beach which is a vast improvement. Voltos is long beach, sandy in some places, pebbly in others, it's well served by tavernas. The beach is quite quiet during the week but gets very busy at weekends with Greek tourists. (If the Greeks go there ...  Read the complete review
