Paris is a dream location for many tourists and while it is very different to pretty much every where else in France it is definately a great destination for a long weekend visit although ideally a week is a good amount of time to spend in the city as it gives you the chance to see all the major sites and also to take a more leisuredly pace to enjoy the culture and atmosphere of this wonderful city.

Paris is a very easy city to travel around as the metro system is excellent and quite easy to master, it is also a lot cleaner than the tube although can also become quite crowded especially at rush hour.

Paris is also a fairly safe city although you do have to be careful however it has a vibrant late night cafe culture and certainly you do not have the drunken crowds that you find in this country.

There are masses of things to see, the Eiffel Tower and Champs Elleyse are on most peoples list as are Notre Dame and the Arc D' Triumph however Paris also boasts some beautifuul parks and a cruise down the Seine is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

For art lovers the Louvre is a must see as is the home of modern art in Paris the Pompadue Centre which is a strange looking building.

Eating out in Paris is not always cheap and it pays to try and avoid the more touristy areas but there are masses of hotels and restaurants to choose from.
