Pefkos

Description: Pefkos, Greek: Pefki, is a small town located in the south of the Greek island of Rhodes, 56Km from the capital city ... more
Pefkos ... Rhodes. The island of Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands, just west of Turkey. Pefkos town is built in an old village, which was once known as a fisherman's town and is between the larger towns of Lindos and Lardos. Visiting Pefkos by day will leave one with the impression of a sleepy and relaxed holiday resort, however when the lights come on the resort is bustling with warm friendly activity. Pefkos beach was awarded Blue Flag status for 2006. The beach is busy with tourists during the day and has amenities such as a toilet, several cafes and bars. Pedalos, speed-boats and jet-skis are also available to rent on the beach.

Newest Review: ... is hanging off them. Good location off the beaten track, nice and relaxed. Next up, The Resort! Pefkos isn't really all that big, you can walk through it in about 15 minutes, but it's got something for everyone. One of the nicest things about this place is there are no ticket touts trying to get you to drink in their bars and no timeshare idiots anywhere. Everything in Pefkos in unhurried. ... more

... There are plenty of shops selling all the usual stuff, food, booze, fags, blow-up lilo's in the shapes of dolphins, postcards and more seashell ornaments and animals than you can shake a pefki pinetree stick at! There are plenty of bars to sit and enjoy ...more

Premium Review Pefkos Town, Rhodes. (1095 words)

Pefkos, or Pefki (meaning Pine Tree) as it's known locally, is a quiet little town on the Greek island of Rhodes. Sitting on the south side of the island and about an hours' coach ride from the airport, this is an unspoilt and relaxing place to stay. My wife and I stayed here in 2007 at the Tsambika Studio Apartments, tucked neatly away on a side road leading to the beach just off the main road through Pefkos. We were due to be flying back there (i'm not swimming it again)) this year and staying at the Stella Apartments but our holiday disappeared in a puff of smoke when XL Airways went bust. I'm not sure who owns the Tsambika Studios now, they did belong to ...  Read the complete review

My girlfriend and i have just returned from a two week break at the pefkos village hotel, located on the outskirts of pefkos in rhodes and loved every second of it. Daytime things to do - In the daytime, pefkos really lends itself to those looking for a lazy holiday, spent by the pool or the beach, as their is little else to do in the main village/town. Although, in summer temperatures of somewhere between 30 and 40 at all times, thats all you want to do anyway. We spent most of our time at our hotel by the pool and had a lovely relaxing holiday, so it certainly ticks all the boxes for that. We often strolled into the town for a spot of lunch ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Pefkos- beautiful sunsets, weather and beach (734 words)

My boyfriend and I booked a trip to Pefkos after being convinced by our Thomas Cook travel agent in Blackburn, who had visited a number of times. We knew we wanted to go somewhere in Greece, and even had thought of Rhodes as one of our options, so we were more than happy to go along with it. The weeks holiday cost us about £320 each which I thought was a little bit expensive for a late deal (even if it was the beginning of August) however we did fly 2 weeks after we booked it. We chose the late flights to save money so flew at around half 9 at night on saturday 8th august arriving at our hotel at around 5am Greek time (4 hour flight, 2 hour time difference, 1 hour ...  Read the complete review

I have just returned from a week in the lovely village of Pefkos, Rhodes. and I am going to be totally honest with you- it was the best holiday I've ever had. In the past I have been to Spain, Corfu, Bulgaria, and France, both touristy areas and more rural, and Pefkos has beaten them all!!! My holiday was with tour operator Thomas Cook, who usually I would have no business with, but my friend organised the trip so I wasn't too fussed. It cost us £252 each for a week in the sun, at a 3* self catered resort. They were really helpful and easy to get along with, and had everything sorted, including our transfers and ideas for excursions. My party of 3 did not do ...  Read the complete review

Matina Aparthotel, Pefkos, Rhodes (953 words)

I went to Pefkos with a friend, for two weeks in September 2007. We stayed at the Matina. The Matina is, quite frankly, the best apartment complex I have ever come across in Greece. We were in a studio, which had 3 single beds. The beds were not particularly comfortable, they were very hard, but we got by. There was a large wardrobe with plenty of coat-hangers, adequate drawer space for two women, a fridge with icebox, cooker with a couple of rings, plenty of crockery and cutlery and even things like a chopping board and a colander. There was a hairdryer, tv and phone in the bedroom part as well. The bathroom had a large sink with plug and counter ...  Read the complete review
