Just come back from this resort, stayed at the matina apartments with direct holidays.These apartments are literally right next to the beach,apartments are lovely, very clean,but make sure you take extra money for the air conditioning,140 euros per a fortnight.
Best supermarket is Supermarket Maria this is when you turn right out of the apartments before you get to the top of the bank, the staff are very friendly it is a family run business one of the greek owners his wife is british, they will help you out in anyway they can, my 2 year old daughter wouldn't go past the shop without going in to see them.
Eating out we tried nearly every restaurant on the main stretch but found the macedonia and the enigma the best.
Macedonia has a scottish chef,very friendly and will do anything you ask for, his steaks and sauces are lovely cooked to perfection, the owner is very friendly too and makes you feel very welcome.
Enigma is a restaurant to go to as a couple it is very romantic. Food is lovely and the waiters are to die for.
Make sure you take a trip into Lindos and Rhodes old town we got to these by taxi you can go by bus but that is a experience lets just say dont get on one of the old buses if it rains because the windows keep falling down and you get soaked.
Pefkos is the hottest part of the island some days you can get a nice breeze coming from the sea which makes it that little bit cooler.
The only entertainment for children is what you get at the Apartments, there are a couple of swings in some of the restaurant grounds but be careful because there not fastened to the ground.
