PhilippinesNewest Review: ... food that is spit roasted is very good though, and in bigger cities there are a wide range of quality restaurants. I have mentioned the top destinations and they are all highly recommended, the beaches are as good as anywhere in the world in Boracay and Palawan. The travelling can be hard though as there are so many islands (over 7000) in the country. The Philippines is a great country to ... more |

The Philippines is a very nice country to visit, it is known for its paradise beaches in places like Palawan and Boracay but it also offers more. There are the spectacular rice terraces at Banaue and Bohol offers the Chocolate Hills. The people speak different dialects across the country and many go abroad to work, which is perhaps why English is widely spoken. This makes things much easier for tourists. The food is widely thought of as terrible around the world, but there are some good dishes, you just have to be careful. one tip is to avoid the cheap local eateries called turo turos. They serve very rich dishes that are left out for a long time and are not ... Read the complete review

Filipino women have been brought up in culture where stability in a marriage is most important. that's why so many of these girls marry old western men. there is so much poverty in the philippines and there is not a lot of jobs for men. so naturally the girls are attracted to older and Stable foreign men. Filipino women in general think of old foreign men as honest, sincere, caring and deserving of much love, respect and admiration. They feel that foreign men make them feel comfortable. The majority of Filipino women who marry foreign men are at least 20-30 years their senior. Most filipino ... Read the complete review

In my general observation, the Philippines is one of the least of places for travellers' destination list of going abroad, either for business or leisure! Frankly, this is my first time to write something about my beloved country. No matter what's going on in my country, as the sayings go, "Home sweet home"... "there's no place like home", Im proud to be born in this country! Despite the current political, economic and social problems being faced by the Philippines in the 21st century, its people (Filipinos, or in Tagalog, PINOY) maintain their warmth hearted, hospitable and hardworking qualities to survive. Well, Im one of the ... Read the complete review

If you live near Lakenheath, or any other US base, you'll be interested in Olongapo. WHERE: Olongapo City, in the Subic Bay area, is 127 kilometers North of Manila, in the Philippines. Think of a port city surrounded by mountains. WHO WILL LIKE IT: adventurous travellers. The Philippines is not particularly comfortable these days: too many American soldiers, too much crime, too big a gap between rich and poor. POPULATION: around 400,000. Languages: Filipino and English. The people are beautiful, relaxed and friendly. This was once a sleepy fishing village. But then the Americans arrived. There is a high crime rate in many parts of the ... Read the complete review
