PhoenixNewest Review: ... they have recently built a light-rail system. It starts somewhere near central Phoenix, and goes all the way to Mesa I believe. I've heard mixed opinions about it, but I hear it's cheap! The weather is fantastic, if you like it hot that is. Around the middle of march, it starts hitting the high 80's, and by April/May it is in the 100's. It cools down to about 99 degrees at night in June-August, and is about 114 during the day. Word of advice, drink PLENTY of water and do your chores REALLY early in the morning. If you have never seen the city, I recommend going there to check it out! It's not all sand! :)... more |

Phoenix is a typical American city, it has its really nice parts, and its parts you want to stay far away from. I have been in the city for two years, and have plenty of stories of people I have met. Phoenix is forever growing. In the two years I have been here, I have seen it expand and grow in the northern area of the city. New malls/ shopping centers are being built all over, and they are doing work to the major freeways to reduce the traffic. If you enjoy hiking in the desert, then you came to the right city. Phoenix is a beautiful place to live. Not only is it one of the cleanest cities in the U.S., it is one of the best run. Over the last 10 years Phoenix has grown past it's initial boundaries into what is referred to as the East Valley, West Valley, North Phoenix, and North Scottsdale. In each of these new areas of the metro Phoenix area are new and beautiful communities with homes ranging from the low $100,000 to over $1 million dollars. Admittedly , Phoenix isn't a San Diego or Las Vegas but if you are driving through the Arizona wilderness , it is an excellent place for a break. Places to visit ; Out of Africe :- An excellent wildlife park for lovers of Lions , Tigers & Bears. About £10 each and you can spend a full day here. Botanical Gardens :- About £6 gives you a full insight into Cacti of all types and sizes.
