Las Palmas has always been one of my most favourite short holiday destinations. Situated just of the coast of Morocco, it is located on one of the islands that make up the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria as they are referred to by the Spanish). Las Palmas although closest to Morocco is a territory of Spain. I have visited Las Palmas a total of eight times in the last ten years and my most recent visit was last year in December. this is a island with plenty to do,for young and old alike. apart from the the all year round sun,there is a vast amount of things to do and see on this island. depending which resort you stay in depends on what sort of beach you will get. if porto rico is the place for you you will no doubt end upon the hill somewhere with alot of steps to walk up and down each day as the resort is built into a hill side, but you do have a lovely shelterd bay for a beach and it gets very hot down there. the nightlife is very lively and seems to go on for ever and it does seem to be abit of a british enclayve.there,s also a water park and plenty of amusements to keep ...

It was my first visit to the Canary Islands and Gran Canaria seemed as good a choice as any. The weather - The weather is stupendous! The island has about 10 days rain per year. The temperature according to the islanders does not fluctuate greatly and their lows are about 18C. While I was there the temperature through the day varied between the low to mid thirties but never really dipping below that. The heat between two and four can become somewhat overpowering, this is the time that the locals typically take their siesta. I would not argue this point, these two hours are usually the hottest of the day and its a good time to do as little as possible. ...
