The sandy beach runs throughout these three resorts and is approximately 8km in length and averages 3km wide. Parts of the beach towards Maspalomas actually resemble sand dunes where the sand has blown over from Africa, ... more

I very rarely return to any holiday destination for a second visit mainly because I prefer to try new places and see new things. It's unusual for me to return to the same island let alone the same resort. However earlier this year I returned to the resort of Playa Del Ingles which is located on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria and is fast becoming one of my preferred holiday destinations due to its favourable climate, easy to reach location and great facilities. So I thought I'd try and boost the tourism in Playa Del Ingles over the coming few months by writing this review on DooYoo and attempting to sell it to you all! The Location Playa del ...  Read the complete review

Las Palmas has always been one of my most favourite short holiday destinations. Situated just of the coast of Morocco, it is located on one of the islands that make up the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria as they are referred to by the Spanish). Las Palmas although closest to Morocco is a territory of Spain. I have visited Las Palmas a total of eight times in the last ten years and my most recent visit was last year in December. I intend to go there again this December. So what attracts me to Las Palmas and why am I not sick and tired of the place that I have frequented eight times already? I was addicted to this place the moment I landed at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Playa del Ingles: fun in the sun (514 words)

this is a island with plenty to do,for young and old alike. apart from the the all year round sun, there is a vast amount of things to do and see on this island. depending which resort you stay in depends on what sort of beach you will get. if porto rico is the place for you you will no doubt end upon the hill somewhere with alot of steps to walk up and down each day as the resort is built into a hill side, but you do have a lovely shelterd bay for a beach and it gets very hot down there. the nightlife is very lively and seems to go on for ever and it does seem to be abit of a british enclayve.there,s also a water park and plenty of amusements to keep ...  Read the complete review

It was my first visit to the Canary Islands and Gran Canaria seemed as good a choice as any. The weather - The weather is stupendous! The island has about 10 days rain per year. The temperature according to the islanders does not fluctuate greatly and their lows are about 18C. While I was there the temperature through the day varied between the low to mid thirties but never really dipping below that. The heat between two and four can become somewhat overpowering, this is the time that the locals typically take their siesta. I would not argue this point, these two hours are usually the hottest of the day and its a good time to do as little as possible. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Playa del Ingles: PLAYA DEL INGLES - SOMETHING FOR EVERY ONE (744 words)

Situated just off the West African coast, Gran Canaria – one of the group of four main Canary Islands - is one of my most favourite places for a holiday. A Spanish dominion, the Island has a distinct Spanish flavour of course, yet retains an appeal to lovers of a more diverse nature. The biggest and most cosmopolitan resort on the Island, PLAYA DEL INGLES, is by far the best place to stay. I have now been four times and find that I can relax there by day and indulge myself a little by night. The beach stretches for miles - from the resort centre out to the famous sand dunes of Maspalomas and beyond. All of the hotels and apartments ...  Read the complete review
