There is so much to do in Punta Cana despite being so much not to do! For instance just laying on the stunningly beautiful white beach, whilst topping up your tan. The 'real' Punta Cana beach was only accessible through Punta Cana Hotel & Club (which I had access to, as I was doing conservation volunteer work in one of its sister companies - the ecological centre) and also Club Med. Punta Cana is an absolutely beautiful place in the East side of the Domincan Republic. It is very much a touristy destination and has a very beautiful beach. I spent 3 months in Punta Cana, as part of one of my modules (work based learning) during university. I lived in a little local town called Beron, but thats a whole different story. Punta Cana is also teamed up with Bavaro, about 10-15 minutes bus ride away from each other. Hotels often class themselves as being in Punta Cana due to its popularity with tourists.
