Newest Review: ... cleaning took about a minute !! We spoke to other people staying in Lindos in other studios & they swore never to return. The 'main' beach in Lindos was very nice & great for the kid's but it got very busy with day trippers. The water was also quite dirty & you could see the oil from the many boats on the surface of the water. There was also another beach,'St Pauls bay', ... more

After hearing many peoples opinions on Lindos we looked forward to going this year - never again. We went with Golden Sun & stayed at the Adams studios, we have never stayed in such a basic room in our lives. Everything was dirty & after going to Spain,Turkey & even other Greek Islands,Lindos was an eye opener. The rooms were infested with insects & the maids cleaning took about a minute !! We spoke to other people staying in Lindos in other studios & they swore never to return. The 'main' beach in Lindos was very nice & great for the kid's but it got very busy with day trippers. Rhodes is the biggest greek island and is situated right next to Turkey.I have been to many of the greek islands and Rhodes is one of the best. Being situated right next to Turkey it is more Turkish than Greek but still a fabulous place to go.I stayed in Pefkos which is a 45 minute drive from the airport. It is a lovely place to stay with lots to do, the hotel that i stayed in was called Pefki Island Resort and believe me it was the best hotel i've ever stayed in. It has two swimming pools both with snack bars and lots of sunbeds, one pool is where most of the older generations stays and the other is full of young kids, all the staff are very friendly. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rhodos: Rhodes with a one year old (594 words)

This review is from the perspective of having a one year old on a self catering holiday. I think the first thing to say is how wonderfully friendly everyone is in Rhodes, everywhere is very child friendly (although not necessarily pram friendly). Toilets were clean, and although bespoke baby changing facilities were not often on offer, it was never a problem. Food was more expensive than I thought it would be although staying in Pekfos you pay a premium tourist rate. Supermarkets in Pekfos were expensive and not particularly good quality, but it was easy to find larger ones just out of the village which the locals use. It is also definitely worth visiting ...  Read the complete review

The best thing about Rhodes is that there is something for everyone, from watersports in some of the clearest water I have seen , to walking or hiking in outstanding countryside, to sunbathing in almost guaranteed beautiful weather, to just doing what comes naturally in the bars and nightclubs on the island(and one can find lots of them!!!!) I have stood on a mountain and been able to see most of Rhodes, I have stood on the southern tip of the island and watched the sun go down creating what can only be described as breath-taking views, I have crawled through a tunnel to see some of the rarer species in the Butterfly gardens, I have stood on a cliff and watched ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rhodos: So you fancy Rhodes?! (349 words)

Well, I am just back and I thought I should tell you more about it! We stayed in Faliraki which is just like the San Antonio of Rhodes methinks...very clubby and pubby, not very Greek really except for the beaches, beautiful! You just cannot miss the Antony Quinn Bay, named after the movie The Cannons of Navarone which was shot there...very clear blue sea! Don't get me wrong, Faliraki is fun, but it would be a waste to spend all your time there, Rhodes is a very ancient and diverse island which is part of the Dodecanese. It is actually closer to Turkey than to the Greek mainland. You will then have to rent a car, watch out in Faliraki, ...  Read the complete review
