Advantages: Lots to do during the day
Disadvantages: Far to hot!
Faliraki – Rhodes 1998 Faliraki was once a fishing village. Still is really, but now the fishing is done in the bars! Only a few hours away from Turkey, we jumped on the boat and spent a day at Marmaris – Er, big mistake! If you are blonde – you’re in trouble!! We went to the bazaar to pick up a few bargains, I couldn’t cope with the heat, I decided to sit in a carpet shop all day nursing my hangover from the night before under air conditioning. The others did manage to do so haggling with the locals and got some good deals. I would recommend Scuba diving. Cost about £30.00 for the day, that included an hour and ½ diving session around a ship wreck, training, coach and a boat ride. We also hired bikes, rode bananas and donuts, and hired a speed boat for a couple of days – I got a new nick name “Captain Cod Eye”. Faliraki offered a really good selection of bars, a downside being the Greek law – closing to early, although the clubs are still pumping at 5am. Most bars have the FISHBOWLS on offer, huge fish bowls with lethal cocktails. Bars - Walk up the street, and the sound assaults you on all sides - there's loads of bars here. Some of my favourites are Georges Bar, Sams, Jamaica, Ziggys (which is where you'll find the fish bowls), Chaplins, Jacks and Beach Boys. Reflections - Very popular 70's night, soul night, 80's night, also plays house and garage. Millennium -Biggest club in Faliraki holds 2000 people. Q Club - Rammed dance club.
