Rochester is accessible by "Plane, Train and Automobile" being served by a domestic airport, bus station, train station and interstate highways. It is a 5-6 hour train ride to New York City, 1 Hour by "JetBlue" (n.b. if you go by plane, you have to try Jet Blue - jetblue.com - everything they serve is blue, including the inflight snack!!!), it is 8 hours by Greyhound to NYC. I recently spent a short vacation in Rochester. Having flown into Chicago O'hare and travelled down to Rochester stopping at a number of places on the way, I finally arrived in Rochester, New York. Rochester is a charming place. Urbanised enough to such an extent that you don't feel like you are in a small rural town, but with the added advantage of not being so large that you get the overpowering sense of being in the city. A major bonus for Rochester is that is served by around 9 - YES NINE!! - universities which draw in a large crowd of twenty somethings. Hi ya all you dooyoos.... I'm from upstate New York and saw a little blip on Rochester....try it..you'll like it! It's a small city with great summer time things to do. A little boating on the great Erie Canal, Good blues and ribs at the Dinosaur Club, a festival almost everyweekend and of course...Americans...lol...I know sometimes we don't sit very well...but we're nice! And of course there's the Niagra Falls not too far away. Lots of wine tastings and beautiful colors in the fall. And if you like what...?...well, you have it nicer in the U.K. what with all the antiques, musicians and beautiful horses but I've never been there. The closest ...  Read the complete review
