Dispite the horrors that I saw, the lasting memory I brought back with me was one of a people of such pride and strength that they would put most of us to shame. Today, Rwanda has largely been forgotten by the rest of the world. It's no longer in he news, you see. Sad, isn't it, that unless we have something put under our noses, we chose to ignore it. I'm not quite sure of where to put this opinion. It's not exactly a travel destination recomendation. It is, however, something that I really want to write about, and as I can't find a category for overseas heartache - this category will have to do. Two years ago, my favourite radio station - 2FM (based in Dublin) advertised for a listener to go to Rwanda to report back on the progress being made 5 years after the genocide that had taken place there.It nvolved travelling with a reporter & photographer from The Star and reps from Trocaire - an Irish overseas aid agency.
