SalouNewest Review: ... I was 27 and my boyfriend was just turning 30, but I would have thought that Salou would be a very enjoyable holiday for all ages. The town has so much to offer from glorious beaches, porta-venture theme park, coastal views in one direction - mountain ranges in the other. The whole area was very clean and all the people were friendly. There was a huge variety of different restaurants and ... more |

Having previously only been abroad once....I had no idea what to expect from Salou really as I was under the impression that some parts of spain could be a bit 'tacky'. The holiday was booked as a birthday present for my boyfriend in conjuction with watching the world rally stages which were taking place nearby. However, we both got distracted with how lovely Salou was and saw more of the town and what it had to offer than we did the rallying At the time I was 27 and my boyfriend was just turning 30, but I would have thought that Salou would be a very enjoyable holiday for all ages. I visited Salou in September 2005 with one of my friends. We stopped in the Club Dorada Palace Hotel. This was an absolutely brilliant hotel, the best one that I've ever stayed in with 4 pools and loads of sun loungers. If you're looking in to going to Salou, definitely look up this hotel to stay at, you won't be sorry! Salou itself is a nice little town with plenty of bars and restuarants. It has a good beach and a nice promenade to walk along. Things to do when stopping in Salou include visiting the Port Aventura theme park, one of the biggest theme parks in Europe! I didn't get aa chance to go there, but was told by others how good it ... Read the complete review

The resort itself is very family orientated. The surrounding area has lots to do... Port Aventura theme park and then you can head off very easily to Barcelona. Getting public transport to Barcelona is very easy and wil set you back around £10 per person return. Getting out here is pretty reasonable too, it seems to be one of the "cheaper" resorts in the hotel brochures. The resort itself is very typical of a Spanish holiday resort, the usual endless souvenir shops, restaurants etc. What is nice about the resort is its very clean, the streets, the prom and the beach. The prom itself is lovely to go for a walk along as there ... Read the complete review

I've been to Salou a few times now, I'm one of those people where once I find something I like, I do back time and time again and Salou has never failed me yet. Based on the coast quite close to Barcelona its cooler than the more southern regions which is great when you have children and its a nice short 2 hour plane ride. The thing I love about Salou is that it has something for everyone, you have at either end a more sedate and traditional Spain with quaint little boutiques to shop away in and craft markets that sell handmade items, great if you love having a good root around at things. In the middle you have your basecamp. Now if you don't like ... Read the complete review

Two years ago I went on holiday to Salou and had a great time. The weather was lovely and there was plenty of activities to do. and if that failed you could always sun bathe on the beach! There are plenty of shops on the promenade and even a nice place to get henna tattoos! There always seems to be great weather there and is not too far from barcelona - about an hour away. even though it was not a city like barcelona it still has as much to offer for the family holiday. I would thorougly recommend it for any family, but a couple looking for a busy night life would maybe perfer Barcelona.there are a few clubs but not many. the beach is gorgeous and clean and there are ...
