Salou - a great holiday destination for all (Salou)

Advantages: Clean, friendly, lots on offer for all ages, cultural

Disadvantages: Coming home afterwards and leaving it all behind

Having previously only been abroad once....I had no idea what to expect from Salou really as I was under the impression that some parts of spain could be a bit 'tacky'. The holiday was booked as a birthday present for my boyfriend in conjuction with watching the world rally stages which were taking place nearby. However, we both got distracted with how lovely Salou was and saw more of the town and what it had to offer than we did the rallying

At the time I was 27 and my boyfriend was just turning 30, but I would have thought that Salou would be a very enjoyable holiday for all ages.

The town has so much to offer from glorious beaches, porta-venture theme park, coastal views in one direction - mountain ranges in the other. The whole area was very clean and all the people were friendly. There was a huge variety of different restaurants and bars, you could eat out every night for weeks and weeks without having to visit the same place twice. Although Salou is very 'English friendly' you definatly feel that you are in a different country and are experiencing a different culture.

So whether you are holidaying as a family, a couple, a group of friends and are young or old - and whether you are looking for a relaxed beach/hotel holiday, sight seeing, or sporting holiday - I would recommend visiting Salou.

Due to the package that we were on, we were only there for a few nights and we desperately wanted to stay and do more. We could quite happily have stayed there for months without running out of things to do.

As soon as finances allow we will back to Salou in a shot.

Summary: No matter what age you are or who you are holidaying with - Salou has it all!
