It's in Borneo/ East Kalimantan. You get there on a very small aircraft. To enjoy the trip you need nerves of steel, which I lack. You might fly Garuda to oil town Balikpapan and then take a grotty bus on the 2 hour journey North to Samarinda. Bumpy and too fast. (Do some drivers consume both alcohol and drugs before setting off?) Why go to Samarinda and East Kalimantan? You can imagine you are Joseph Conrad. There is a fascination in the immensely tall tropical trees that seem to blot out the sun and the damp black wooden houses and the wide rivers.
