Samos is still a relatively well kept secret. For me it’s a touch of Paradise and I’m going to share a few of the secrets with you!! Let’s get THE FACTS out of the way first! Samos is situated in the North East Aegean. It is the closest Greek island to Turkey and at one point (the tiny, beautiful resort of Posidonion in the south east) the Turkish coast (this part uninhabited) is only 1,000 –1,200 metres away. You can take a day trip across to Turkey to visit the fantastic archaeological site of Ephesus. I just spent a week in Samos, a pretty Greek island 3 km from Turkey. I had no idea what it was like, I just picked it out of a catalogue because it was a quiet island. It is! Samos is quite undeveloped but has recently embraced tourism. There are lots of new apartments being built and lots of nice restaurants, but most of it is unspoilt and very greek. It's a pretty small green island, with some mountains in the middle and sand and shingle beaches round the edge. Unless you're staying right over a club you're going to have a quiet holiday.
