Newest Review: ... the Bolivian jungle to the Brazilian border. The one thing that really struck me, was the affluence of the city, having spent a month or so in other parts of Bolivia where the standard of living is considerably lower and one see's endless campesino's chewing coco leaves to supress their apetites for lack of funds to feed themselves, I was really shocked when I noticed how many shiny, open topped Suzuki jeeps, up to the minute trainers, kids in baseball caps, mothers dripping in gold and shops selling more than just the bare essentials there were. With temperatures soaring into the high 40's most of the year round, the climate prevents Santa Cruz from being a highly desirable place to go. Moreover, there is not a great deal to do when you get there, it was for me just somewhere that I had to pass through while on the lengthy journey across the Bolivian jungle to the Brazilian border.
