SeattleNewest Review: ... and very far from city life indeed. So if you are aiming to have fun coming to Seattle make sure you ll get a place closer to the center. Even if it is more expensive you ll definitely save time on getting somewhere.. I loved the harbour though, not everyday you see pictures like that in the middle of the city.. But again - it is noisy most of the time, windy and rainy. So can you really ... more |

I have been living in Seattle for almost a year.. and I hated it. I have heard so much about the place before I went there.. Was very excited to see the home of Nirvana who I am a big fan of, visit graves of Bruce and Brandon Lee, Jimmy Hendrix.. I have done that but still am not impressed. Seattle is quite wet and dirty to my opinion. I dont mind rain, I love it.. but sometimes it becomes unbearable. Plus I was honestly missing snow during the winter, but thats something you cannot help going to warmer places.. The major minus of this place for me - it is very much spread geographically. And unless you own a car you are in trouble getting into places as the ... Read the complete review

I'm a big fan of Seattle. I've been there when it's sunny and also when it has rained cats and dogs for days and I've still got to say it's one of my favourite cities in the world. It's a pretty compact city - everywhere you might want to visit is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. It's a very easy place to get around. Downtown buses are free and if you go further afield you simply pay for the extra distance outside the central zone that you've travelled. The city is set around the gorgeous Puget Sound. On a clear winter's day, the stunning city skyline is also highlighted by the fabulous snow-covered ... Read the complete review

I've been living in Seattle for a year, and i never felt that way about a city before. Since you arrived at the SeaTac airport, you can't help but love the amount of water flowding around the city. from th plane, it looks like a city that grew inside nature concerving it as much as it could. When you drive toward Seattle, you can see the Mont Rainier, alone, only mountain detaching itself from the flat horizon of the land... Seattle may not be the place where tourists will be busy, but it's a really nice place to stay, chill and enjoy. Nature, native culture and new successfull businesses came to Seattle, why wouldn't you? ... Read the complete review

I visited Seattle in 1994, as it was the cheapest way to get to Victoria, BC for the Commonwealth Games. In just 36 hours on the way out and 48 hours on the way back from Victoria, it has left an indelible memory and ranks as my favourite US city (so far!) Seattle, in Washington state, is in the far north west corner of mainland USA (ignoring Alaska, of course, which is stuck on the edge of Canada, detached from the remainder of the USA). The only direct service to Seattle from the UK is with British Airways - it takes 9 hours 40 minutes from London Heathrow. The next fastest routing is usually through a northern European hub, for example with KLM (via ... Read the complete review

Yes the weather in Seattle resembles England in that it often rains. But the city is vibrant, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides you can see the storm clouds coming. I used to visit the city on a regular basis and was impressed by the quality of the downtown resturaunts like El Grouch's, which would not seem out of place in London or New York. The city caters for all tastes and I can highly recommend the seafood bars and grills are also excellent. Like most major citys it does suffer from congestion, but a short drive into the outskirts of the city takes you to some of the wonderful scenery that you've ever seen. Highly recommended, ...
