Advantages: people, food, ladies, fun, modern, not what u expect

Disadvantages: can be very cold

Just spent a few days on a business trip to Seoul en route from Taipei.

Here follows my mini-travellers guide to Seoul based on that wealth (!) of experience

1. Seoul is huge, 12M in the city
2. Seoul is very modern
3. Seoul is very cold in winter reaching -15/-20 and in summer it is very hot +35
4. Every car is either a Daewoo, a Hyundai, a Kia, a SSang Yong or a Samsung Motor - there are a few Western makes around - we played spot the non Korean car for 3 hours in the back of a cab - we saw 3 !
5. Korean cars are not very good quality
6. But there electrical equipment is pretty good
7. the people of Seoul like to drink - I am still recovering after 3 days
8. as all of Asia, they like to sing @ Karaoke and most of them are crap at it
9. Business is king, as are sports and family
10. Their diet is very healthy and involves lots of veg and spice
11. They are golf daft and also baseball and basketball mad...oh and football

13. Seoul ladies are very nice !
14.the Ritz Carlton Hotel is excellent 5 star +
15. I plan to be back in Seoul in the new year
16. It is a long flight from Glasgow
17. the airport ain't too good
18. they do not like the Japanese at all
19. talking about North Korea is very serious subject as many people have families they have not seen for years and are not allowed to communicate with
