What kind of a place is this???

I went to Egypt last year and flew into Sharm. Luckily, I was only planning on being there a few days as the plan was to travel the country. I would have been so disappointed if I had to stay there for two weeks.

This is not Egypt and it makes me mad when people say they have been to Egypt but they have in fact been here. It is nothing like the rest of Egypt. You can leave the airport and go straight into Sharm but if you are planning on travelling on to see some of the 'real' Egypt then you need a visa. Where in the world do you need a visa to get out of a place and see the rest of the country?

The Egyptians don't even consider Sharm to be part of Egypt. It is a self contained, ma made holiday resort for British and Russian tourists. Huge ugly hotel resorts, over priced food, sun burnt overweight Brits alking around in next to nothing.

If you visit Egypt then you should know a little about the culture. Egypt is a Muslim country and if you go anywhere other than Sharm you can't get away with walking around half naked, it's disrepectful and people cover up. I find it highly embarrassing that we go abroad to places like this when the country is so so beautiful and cultural but none of this is experienced if you go to somewhere like Shram- El- Sheik.
