Advantages: Low Expenses
Disadvantages: Undeveloped
Although the name Sierra Leone appears to be an Italian name, Sierra Leone is a country found in the west of West Africa. The country has a lot of good and a bit bad things about it in history.
Although the country is taught to be very backward and undeveloped, there are several good features about this place.
The Beaches;
Sierra Leone has one of the best beaches in Africa. The popular ones include No.2 Beach, Toke, John Obey and Lumley beach. Both white sanded and yellow sanded beaches are found here. An amazing place to visit in Sierra Leone is the Banana Island. This Island is the nearest from Kent Beach, and a boat or Ferry is needed to go here. Banana Island also contains vast number of beaches and amazing sites.
Forests;
A lot of tropical forests are found here. In fact the country was considered to have 70% of its Area as forests, though due to deforestation this value has fallen over the years. A variety of Animal and plant species are found here.
Government;
The major political parties of the country are APC and SLPP. The present government is under the APC party.
Educational System and Exams;
The Educational system of Sierra Leone is 6-3-3-4. The 12th grade exam is called WASSCE (West African Senior Certificate Examinations) which is also conducted in other West African Countries.
The country has two universities, University of Sierra Leone and Njala University.
Wars;
Sierra Leone unfortunately became a victim of a civil war, where the rebels overtook the country. The country had a huge property loss with this war. The Rebel War ended in 2000.
People;
The main tribes of people found here are the Temne and the Mende. The people are very welcoming and straight forward.
To summarize, Sierra Leone is a very adorable place to visit.

- 13/11/08 Actually, the slave trade is no more practiced here, what you can find is structural remnants of slave buildings, Sea Hub etc. |

- 13/11/08 Interesting place to visit. I believe they still practice the salve trade in regions of the country. I love exotic palces. |
