Skiathos ... island in the Aegean Sea belonging to Greece. It is next to Skopelos, it also consists of 1 main town (Skiathos Town) and the settlements being Koukounaries, Kanapitsa, Vromolimnos and Troullos. Skiathos is the westernmost island in the Sporades group of islands. The mainland Greece along with Magnesia is to the west. The name of the island dates back to ancient times.

The building the studios the swimming pool and the bar are excellent,very clearly,
the view in the sea and the tradittional skiathos town .The place around is wonderful very natural and is very good for doing some small walks,also the distance from the beach is very small and anytime that you like you can come .
Also The owners are very nice people.
The Blue Horizon is very near to the Megali ammos beach and also just 350 m from the bus station no 4,that you can go in all the beaches.our holidays was perfect
Skiathos is one from the most beautiful island that i have ever go.And Blue Horizon studios is really the best accomodation in skiathos
Really nice weather for all the summer and the winter also

Hi, To describe Skiathos as a "Holiday mare" is a little harsh to say the least. I read the review just before setting off on holiday and i was expecting to be gouged from the moment the plane skidded across the footpath...i mean runway. I found Skiathos to have a mix of of "touristy" and traditional offerings. The food could be expensive and oddly enough in those restaurants, not the best. The best advice is to not go out too hungry(so that you don't collapse into the first fish&chip with a side of mushy peas dump you find!) and have a look around. Skiathos Island is a great destination for young couples and families to enjoy the sea and the sun.Lots of sandy beaches great resorts by the sea and the most relaxing enviroment.My favorite of all are the Achladies Apartments run by the Karvounis family.Here you will find a special place where families with small children can enjoy and learn all about sanctuary animals and mother nature at any time. ps vist http://achladies.apartments.googlepages.com

Right to put a few things straight I unlike some people have lived on Skiathos for 10 years And I feel this site could do with a no holds bared review. I have read some of the reviews here and think some people need to know what they talking about. First of all the weather can be very unsettled this is from may to June and middle August to October this is why it is called the green isle it will rain on at least 2 days out of a 2 week stay and if it didn’t then you were lucky. Expect lager and chips on Skiathos, not peace and quiet. We originally chose to go to Skiathos as many of the reviews put it across as a place with 60 beaches and as my boyfriend had lived in Greeece for some time I thought it would be lovely to visit somewhere quiet with few shops and stay somewhere self catering, so we could get away from out busy london existence. The whole purpose of Skiathos is to gouge you from the first taxi. The driver recommended very anglicized restaurants and other tourist traps. 80's music blares from most of the pool-side bars we visited.
