Puggers Bolivia: ... much as it s something of a patronising cliché to talk of poor countries that are rich in natural wonders, Bolivia is a fine example of the parison. In a continent as big on tourist "must-sees" as South America, however, its charms are admittedly of a rather bleak and/or hostile nature, from its sun-bleached, thin-aired Altiplano right down (several vertical miles down, in fact) to its thousands of miles...

... being the work we did with an indigenous Indian village, a six hour dug out ride from civilisation, being accepted into the community and feeling like you have improved their lives in a very small way, as the credit card advert goes "Priceless". Orientation and Important Stuff For those who do not know Venezuela is in South America on the northern coast of the continent looking out towards Trinidad and the rest of the Caribbean, in the west you have the Andes before you land up in Columbia and the south west is dominated by the jungles that lead into the Amazon. ... FEW FACTS: La Paz is the capital of Bolivia which is a land locked country next to Peru in South America. It is one of the poorest South American countries but this I no way detracts from its charm as a country to visit. Strangely in La Paz the wealthier you are the closer to the bottom of the valley in La Paz is where you live. The poorer people live higher up the mountain sides and so get the best views, I m not sure why this is whether they were closer to the river initially or what but I found it quite odd. GETTING THERE: You can fly in to La Paz airport in El Alto which is where we flew out from. They have flights from several South American countries. I m not...

Although a nice enough city the main two reasons people come here is either on a stop over going south or over to Santiago in Chile or to go on wine tours. The city itself has parks and churches but nothing particularly spectacular to recommend it-wine is the reason to stay for longer. There are numerous wineries in the surroundin...
