Beautiful beaches, serene mountains and the bustling city all within reach of a drive of 2-3 hours from each other? Sri Lanka is not called the "Hawaii of Europe" without a reason!

Being an island located at the tip of the Indian sub-continent beautiful beaches are always close at hand. Since the country is a tourist hot-spot, especially for holiday-makers from Europe and Australia, the facilities for tourists from tour arrangements to luxury as well as budget hotels are ample.

Even though humidity is quite high throughout the year, travelling towards the hill-country of Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya gives you a complete change of scenery as well as climate. The beautiful mountain ranges, tea plantations and the cool misty climate can be considered the definition of serenity.

With many wild-life sanctuaries and national parks, Sri Lanka is also a great place for those who would like to get in touch with nature and wild-life. The island also boasts of one of the best Zoo's in Asia.

Sri Lanka is also a country with a rich history, with remains of kingdoms from the BC era to remnants of the colonial times when it was occupied by the Portuguese the Dutch and then the British. The castle of king Kashyapa built on top of the Sigiriya rock, with near vertical faces is a must visit for all tourists visiting the country.
