Advantages: Modern & romantic city!

Disadvantages: Too many tourists for the Parliament?!

Strasbourg, home of the Council of Europe and seat of the European Parliament, is a modern, dynamic city despite being over two thousand years old.
The capital of Alsace has preserved some of the best architecture of the Middle Ages, such as the pink cathedral and the "Petite France" area, with its hand craft workshops, galleries, antique and souvenir shops.
A restful trip along the canals is a particularly pleasant way to appreciate the many sights. I really advise you to go for a night boat trip on the canals - it's great!
Not to forget the specialities which are very close to German cuisine but with finesse and French touch - do not miss the Choucroute with Riesling wine! Argh...so gooood!!!
The folklore is very rich again and there are plenty of museums dedicated to the people of Alsace.
On top of that, it's so hot and sunny in the summer...a great place to see!

I like many ex-pats in Stuttgart would flock there at the weekends for cheap ciggy's and shopping at the Marks and Spencer store.

A trip on the canals is an excellent way to appreciate Strassbourg.
