Advantages: Cleanliness and orderliness
Disadvantages: Exchange rate makes it expensive
Switzerland is not a place to be forgotten once visited. The pleasant citizens and the cleanliness of the streets are striking. It is a great shame to have to come home to the cluttered and dirty streets of Glasgow. I have been to Switzerland twice now, and thouroughly enjoyed both visits. The first was in summer and the second was in winter. As a nation they appear to be prepared for everything. They are highly organised. The service at the camp site was brilliant, the transport first rate, the road system first class and the shops well stocked. I do not kid, the best part of the holiday was to go to a local chocolate shop. It was heaven on earth. Every type of chocolate you could imagine. I have still to get a clock, but I did get a music box. It sits with a place of pride on the book case. It is a masterpice of engineering. Fortunately everybody speaks english, although they showed the film in German. Our mistake, we should have asked. The food is brilliant and the local restaurants reasonable. Okay, the exchange rate is not in our favour at present, but for that little bit extra you will be visiting a country which is pure and refreshing. It is more sedate than some of the other favoured destination - even so, you will find something for everybody. Peace and clean air, with great chocolate, what else do you need to unwind after several months of dismal weather?

- 10/03/01 I'm sorry to correct ya but Switzerland is NOT the land of cuckoo clocks! Yes there are a few but they originally come from the Black Forest, which is Germany...
(I'm Swiss so I oughtta know ;-) ) |
