TenerifeNewest Review: ... is situated in case mobility is a problem for you. ~Adeje~ On our first holiday to Tenerife we got accosted by a man selling holidays. The basic deal was two years in Tenerife for £1,800 for two of us including flights. After much checking this guy and the company was for real we signed on the dotted line and paid our deposit. When we returned home and the infamous name of Mr Palmer came up ... more |

I first travelled to Tenerife just after 2000. Me and my now hubby stayed just outside Playa de Las Americas. Being 9 years younger and in my early twenties staying in Tenerife's most lively resort didn't put me off. Now, however in my thirties it is a whole other ball game. I will only review the south side of the island as this is where I have visited. ~Tenerife the Island~ Tenerife a Spanish island is the largest of the 7 Canary Islands and is just off the coast of Africa. It has about 5 million tourists visit the island every year and is getting more popular with each year that passes. Santa Cruz is the capital of the Island. Tenerife is a volcanic ... I've just come back from my 6th visit to Tenerife in 5 years and approximately my 12th visit there overall... This is an article I wrote about Tenerife for villas-in-tenerife.co.uk. It's written with the angle of encouraging people to visit Tenerife and so if it's seems a little "markety", then that's why! I was actually contacted on Twitter to write an article for the website, the guy paid me £5 for the 500 or so words, so it may be worth getting in touch with him if you've got an article you can share! The article can also be seen at: http://www.villas-in-tenerife.co.uk/118/tenerife-island-of-year-round-sun/ No matter what ... Read the complete review

The History of Tenerife: Tenerife, a Spanish island, is the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. Tenerife has an area of 2034.38 square kilometers, and 886,033 (as of 2008) inhabitants, which make it the most populated island of the Canary Islands and Spain. Tenerife is an important tourist destination in Spain and in the world. The earliest known human settlement in the islands date to around 200 BC, by people known as the Guanche. They were characteristically tall, powerfully built Scandinavian-looking people with blue eyes and long, fair hair. They had little technology, even by Stone Age comparison ... I have just recently returned back to the UK from Tenerife and must admit that I really enjoyed every minute of it. There was great weather, stayed near the beach, many restaurants and activities to do and take part in. The average weather temperature was around 25 degrees and I stayed in Playa De Las Americas, which is by the south west coast of the island. If you are planning to go somewhere warm, fun, lively, and entertaining, then Tenerife is the place for you - good for a quick getaway! I visited Siam Park, which is a water park with slides, and seals, went out on a catamaran to see the dolphins and whales, and sat on the beach soaking up the ... Read the complete review

Tenerife is an all round destination ideal in my opinion for younger couples and couples with young childrens. I liked Tenerife, but I feel the weather had a lot to do with this decision. Myself and my partner went in December 2008 and the weather was good for this time of year, mostly sunny! Tenerife as a resort is ok, there is stuff to do for a week or so, dependent of course on where you stay. We stayed in the Laguna Park hotel in Costa Adeje, which we found suitable for a week (in okish weather) but to be honest without the sun there just doesnt seem that much to do without leaving your resort of course. The transportation ... Read the complete review
