Advantages: Beer, Friendly Germans, The price of a pint and a half!

Disadvantages: You have to leave, Not enough trouser space for glasses

Off I went for a week in Germany, The Black Forest. To be totally honest I thought this holiday would be boring, dull and full of half conversations with Germans. First night off we went in search of some fun. There it was "The bremin". So we decided to go in, as soon as I entered the door I heard the noise I’d been waiting for: "Guten Tag, Wie Gehts, eine grosse bier?" and what a beer it was. We continued this for many days, beer and more beer. Until a return visit to "The bremin" the very friendly landlord gave us what he called "Black forest water" the generosity, the thoughtfulness and of course the free beer.

Myself being only 17, I can't get into pubs here in Britain. So Germany was the perfect solution. If you want a good drinking holiday, lots of beer (it really is the best beer ever to touch my sweet palette) and the friendliness of Germans giving you free drink, it's the place to be.

Not only the pubs and their staff are superb; the hotel I stayed in was supreme! The food was top notch and the friendliness of the hotel staff was on par with the landlord, excellent! The room I was allocated had recently been renovated so it was also to the highest standard. Although the tv broke on the 2nd day I never had a need for it with "The Bremin" 5 minutes away.

The Black Forest is near to some nice towns and cities so a day trip is never hard to organise. Friburg and Strasburg were two places we visited, Friburg was good but I didn't like Strasburg, being in France it was inhabited by mostly French people and they aren't the most friendly people I’ve ever met. To be honest, they're the most unfriendly I’ve met. There was an olympic size swimming pool nearby too and it was really really good fun! A nice place to relax in the warm weather we had that week.

If the time comes when you have to leave and maybe get a few gifts for mummy, daddy and th
at aggressive brother that beats you every chance he gets. Beer glasses. These aren't your normal pint glasses. These're are German glasses, splendid in design, holder of god's sweet amber nectar and easy to fit down your trousers and thieve. Thank you once again "bremin"

The price of drinks: £1.10 for a pint and a half? I thought dear Mr Landlord was extracting the Michael, but no...it really is £1.10 for 1 1/2 pints.

I already have my return trip planned. :)
