TorreviejaNewest Review: ... simply pulling off the road at a cliff-top somewhere along the main road into Torrevieja will more often than not find a path down to a little known about beach Accomodation here is of an excellent standard and value the last time we went we stayed at the Hotel Torrejoven which i think worked out as £45 per night split between two. Hello been on holiday several times to Torrevieja now. It is located on the Costa Blanca around a 30 minutes drive from Ali-cante. Torrevieja originlly started life as a salt mining town which can be seen still been seen from quite a few large salt flats surrounding the area with salt still being mined. This is a busy sea-side city. There is a large market every day on the sea-front in Ali-cante centre. Also there are several local markets further out of town for a more authentic spanish feel. The night life here is excellent with a road known as the Street of Bars which is rumoured to be a mile long. Also more local style drinking holes can be found just off ... Read the complete review

Twenty five minutes drive from the beautiful city of Alicante, but still in the Alicante province is a haven steadily growing in popularity, this is a town called Torrevieja (pronounced Torrevieka). I have been visiting the area for nearly 11 years now, my last visit was in September of this year with my husband, my 21mth old daughter and my two little sisters. My husband introduced me to the resort as my father in law owned an apartment in an area called Playa Flamenca, to the South of the town. It's a working town, originally created to house and entertain the employees of one of Europes most important salt industries. Since then it has steadily grown in ... Read the complete review

In July 2001, we spent a week in a private apartment in the southern suburbs of Torrevieja. Although we quite enjoyed the holiday, I couldn't say that the town had much to offer the average foreign traveller. There is a funfair near the port and there are a couple of nicely located town beaches, however these are packed to the brim with locals. There is not much room to spread out. Near our apartment at the south end there was no sand and only a scruffy beach with rocks. We found we needed a car to get to better beaches both up and down the coastal road. The restaurants were not particularly welcoming if you didn't habla the old ... Read the complete review

Ive been to Torre at least once a year for the past 18 years (since i was born), my family used own propety there untill my grandad died and we sold up. I still go there every year and got back a fortnight ago today, i was there for three weeks. Torre is a great family destination, with many beachs, and family pools and bars. I recommend "El Pariaso" as the best pool, but there is also the "ECU Centre" which has been refurnished. The best family bar in town is "Bar Carlos", Carlos a family friend for many years had his bar built after working at "Gabby's" (another good family bar, not as good as Carlos's though). The ... We recently visited Torrevieja and instantly fell in love with the place, so much so that we bought an apartment and one day hope to live there. When you first arrive at Torrevieja the first thing you notice is how clean the place is, the roads are all good and the general feel is of a well run town. The local people are very warm, a good tip is to try and speak the language they appreciate it and help you, having said that you don't need to speak fluent Spanish as the area is very cosmopoliton, the brits have a large presence and most of the shops can speak English. The climate is one of the best things about Torrevieja, reputed to be the ... Read the complete review
