Advantages: Culture, Music

Disadvantages: Humidity

I was lucky enough to work in Trini for a while so here is a slightly different point of view:

The pace of life is relaxed and slow - great for Maracas beach and lymin' but not when you're next pay check is on the line. It can be very frustrating. Having said that if like it, you'll love it.

Trinidad is wet in the rainy season (!) and gets very humid. Make sure your office is air conditioned and drink at least 2 ltres of water a day. If you're in Port of Spain be a bit careful what you wear. White people in suits are still not especially welcome in the poorer districts. It is not unknown for white houses to be stoned.

But don't let this put you off, the evenings are cool and relaxed. The music is great, the people smiley and nightclubs...

oh and Tobago is paradise but being built up fast, get there soon.
