More Than a Holiday (Trinidad & Tobago)

I was warned about so many things about these islands as well as being told some positive things and the result of my stay was that I found evidence to support almost every warning and positive feature. These islands are a country of contrasts and contradictions. There is evidence of positive and harmoniois multi-racial living; yet the tension that exists among and between the various communities are also obvious. As a "tourist" you are given all sorts of special priviledges and deferments but this will happen at the same time as they rip you off. It was an enjoyable stay and as a Black Briton, there are obviously advantages for me. You can enjoy the climate, the beaches the night life and the women but getting to know this place will reveal insights that will amaze you and help you cope with living as a black person in London!!! I look forward to Carnival there and enjoyed my stay and fell for the hype enough to return for Carnival. Summary: |
