TunisiaNewest Review: ... alot of the culture, which included sight seeing, enjoying the local wildlife and attractions. Some examples of activities such as picking exotic fruit whilst enjoying a camel ride, taking part in the coach tours around different cities within the country and not to mention trying the exotic food!! Also have the oppertunity to visit some of their famous markets, selling great souvenirs and culture related products. I certainly enjoyed visiting Tunisia and would love to go back, and i certainly recommend it as a holiday destination to anybody. Hope this helps slightly and thanks for reading... more |

I went on holiday to Tunisia a couple of years ago. I didnt expect alot from it but soon changed my mind when i arrived. With plenty of hotels to stay in, Tunisia is a great place for a holiday destination. With superb weather all year round, your sure to find plenty of activities to choose from. I managed to experience alot of the culture, which included sight seeing, enjoying the local wildlife and attractions. Tunisia is a fantastic country! We stayed in Port El Kantaoui which is a gorgeous tourist area at the centre of which is a large marina with yachts and boats which is beautiful to walk round. There are a lot of open air restaurants and shops to wander around and it is also very close to the beach which is amazing - it goes on for miles! Whilst in Tunisia we also visited Sousse which was an experience! We were caught out by a "helpful" man who wanted to show us the way to the only government run shop in Sousse but actually took us to his fathers leather and carpet shop which was very scary as they do not take no for an answer! Once we had gotten out of the shop ... Read the complete review

After reading some of the reviews on here, I feel sad for the people who had unpleasant experiences - I have just come back from Tunisia for the second time (first time was six years ago) and both holidays were amazing! I stayed in Hammamet with a friend this time round, and am puzzled to hear that it has a bad reputation - we were amazed at how quiet and beautiful it was! We felt bad for asking for a glass of wine at the hotel when we arrived at 1am, as a lot of bars etc seem to shut before midnight so it was very quiet. One of our first sights was the neighbouring 'View' bar advertising 'beer and booze' which we groaned at, but it was only a small bar with ... Read the complete review

Tunisia suffers from a bit of an image problem. For decades, Tunisia has been well and truly on the tourist map. Enormous hotel complexes line all the best beaches, where sunburnt Europeans lie nose-to-nipple under a thousand and one parasols. The sand is white, the sea is azure blue, the sun is strong...should be package holiday paradise then. But somehow, Tunisia doesn't quite hit the spot. The food's a bit foreign, they whinge. The entertainment's not quite Ibiza. The people are too pushy. A Moorish arch or two on the "traditional" high risery surrounding the pool is exotic enough for some holidaymakers, who dare not venture too far from their ... Read the complete review

It was just over 2 years ago that I visited Tunisia, but it remains one of the most adventurous and exciting holidays I have been on, and quite apart from the standard package tour many people take. The thing you have to decide straight away is what sort of holiday you are after ? a relaxing one in the sun, or an all out adventure. I suppose if you have 2 weeks there you could do both, but there is so much to see and do, that in 1 week you have to choose which you are going to opt for. We chose adventure! Planning is everything if you want to make the most of your precious time, and bar one oversight (train times), our plan generally went very ... Read the complete review
