I went on holiday to Tunisia a couple of years ago. I didnt expect alot from it but soon changed my mind when i arrived. With plenty of hotels to stay in, Tunisia is a great place for a holiday destination. With superb weather all year round, your sure to find plenty of activities to choose from. I managed to experience alot of the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review best holiday destination I have ever been to! (345 words)

Tunisia is a fantastic country! We stayed in Port El Kantaoui which is a gorgeous tourist area at the centre of which is a large marina with yachts and boats which is beautiful to walk round. There are a lot of open air restaurants and shops to wander around and it is also very close to the beach which is amazing - it goes on for miles! Whilst in ...  Read the complete review

Give Tunisia a chance! (816 words)

After reading some of the reviews on here, I feel sad for the people who had unpleasant experiences - I have just come back from Tunisia for the second time (first time was six years ago) and both holidays were amazing! I stayed in Hammamet with a friend this time round, and am puzzled to hear that it has a bad reputation - we were ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review The Other Face of Tunisia (4796 words)
by - written on 02/12/07 (Very useful, 398 readings)

Tunisia suffers from a bit of an image problem. For decades, Tunisia has been well and truly on the tourist map. Enormous hotel complexes line all the best beaches, where sunburnt Europeans lie nose-to-nipple under a thousand and one parasols. The sand is white, the sea is azure blue, the sun is strong...should be package holiday ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Tunisia - there to be explored! (1278 words)
by - written on 17/08/04 (Very useful, 898 readings)

It was just over 2 years ago that I visited Tunisia, but it remains one of the most adventurous and exciting holidays I have been on, and quite apart from the standard package tour many people take. The thing you have to decide straight away is what sort of holiday you are after ? a relaxing one in the sun, or an all out adventure. I ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Tunisia - Those Without A Sense Of Humour Need Not Apply (3903 words)

"Bin 'ere before? We luv it, it's our fiff time", said the guest next in to queue to register at the hotel we had just arrived at, adding "the staff are luvly, and the beer's real cheap". I was tempted to see if they knew which country they were actually in, but held back. Tunisia's like that, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A package tour to Tunisia - the good, the bad and the ugly (3012 words)

August 2001 I went on a package tour, a last minute deal booked on the Internet, to Mahdia in Tunisia. We stayed in a 4* hotel in Mahdia which is a fishing village only recently entering into the tourist trade. We were promised gorgeous beaches, high class accommodation, and a quiet town; a far cry from the loud tourist resorts of Tunis and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Taste of Tunisia (459 words)

To me Tunisia lacks the charm and personality, which I look for in a holiday destination. Admittedly we did travel there in February and didn’t quite get the weather we expected, which always does detract somewhat from a holiday. It managed to snow there for the first time in 50 years and in fact our son was enjoying higher ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Take me back to Tunisia (413 words)
by - written on 09/11/00 (Very useful, 858 readings)
Rating:

I would recommend a holiday in Tunisia to anyone looking for good value for money. Beautiful beaches, lovely weather, great hotels, and very cheap. I felt very safe in this country as there are very stiff penalties for crimes against tourists and crime rates are very low. The Tunisians are also very friendly to the English. But ...  Read the complete review

when my sister rang me at my friends house when i was 10, and told me we were going to africa, i thought of egypt and elephants and glorious pyramids!!! oh, how wrong can one person be?!? that probably is what you get if you go to egypt, but tunisia is a tad downmarket! the fundamental difference is egypt is a well funded, prosperus ...  Read the complete review

I am quite well travelled but one place that is definately not on my list for a re visit is Tunisia. I had the misfortune to travel there two years ago with my family and have spent the last two years trying to put off as many people as I can from going. Where do I start? The Hotel, quite expensive, on the beach front at ...  Read the complete review

A couple of years ago, just before my finals at university, I felt that I needed a break to get away and relax, to get fully focused for the exams ahead. Off I went to the travel agent and you could imagine my delight at getting a fortnight full board in a four star hotel for less than 300 pounds. Like a shot we passed over our money and flew ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tunisia (169 words)

Tunisia is a touch of the exotic combined with a traditional Med beach holiday. It has all the advantages of the latter - good hotels, warm seas, guaranteed sun in summer etc but it is in Africa. It offers a chance to go on a "long haul" holiday but with a flight of under four hours and not too many bugs etc. There are plenty of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bomb the place (365 words)
by - written on 05/08/00 (Useful, 504 readings)
Rating:

I would like to start by saying I'm not a racist. Nor am I close minded. Nor am I shallow and unwilling to really experience another country. But after visiting Tunisia in 1997, specifically the resort of Port el Kantaoui, I would quite happily bomb the place. Quite simply its a dump and I would not recommend this to an enemy let ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tunisia: A country of contrasts (224 words)
by - written on 03/08/00 (Very useful, 417 readings)

Tunisia - the forgotten corner of Africa. This is a country you either like or hate there is no in between. It is also a country of contrasts - land at Tunis airport and it is a true international airport with an african tinge. Land at Monastair and it is a modern half completed typical tunisian introduction to the country. Go ...  Read the complete review

I had always fancied going to Tunisia for a holiday - but for some reason we had never got around to it. We'd been all across the Med, the Canaries and obviously Britain, but Tunisia...well, I just don't know why. Then three years ago we took a Winter break in Hammamet - just 7 days, but we took the opportunity to see a couple of other ...  Read the complete review

Tunisia: what a country - go there (142 words)

I went here with a friend over the easter break this year, and I can tell you it was just how it was explained in the brochure - idilic. I was amazed by how little insects there were, because usually in a place like this you are swarmed with mosquitos and such like, but I can honestly tell you that I wasn't bitten once. The people are so ...  Read the complete review

I spent a week here early this year. It was my second visit, my first was at the age of 15 and I have to say little has changed in the intervening 15 years. Tunisia is definitely left off the bottom of peoples shopping list when it comes to holidays and this is their loss. What people miss is that it is incredibly interesting country and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Highs and Lows of a Visit to Tunisia (433 words)
by - written on 09/06/00 (Useful, 243 readings)
Rating:

Tunisa is one of the last undiscovered areas linked to the Med. But as I write this yet another brick in a Costa Del Sol hotel is being put into place. The country is a great way to get the feel for what you should imagine North Africa to be. Full of street traders and market stalls in busy busling streets. The people friendly and fantastic ...  Read the complete review
