It doesn't matter who you are, or what age you are, Turkey has something to suit everyone. Personal opions - In my opinon Turkey is the holiday destination which caters for everyones intrests. Before I took my first trip to Turkey I would never have dreamed of visiting the place, as I had a stereotypical image of a dirty, sleezy, unorganised country. Now, that Ive been 13 times, I wonder where on earth that sterotypical image came from. Turkey, for one, is x10 cleaner than the United Kingdom. It is very rare to find a spot of chewing gum plasterd to the ground in Turkey, could you say that about the UK? Personally, I think Turkey is very well orginised, the English of the people is very impressive, and also, the resorts (and cities) are very well ... Read the complete review

I first visited Turkey 9 years ago & have since been back 18 times. I have been to most of the ressorts & visited Istanbul * Ankara. I didn't really like Istanbul:too busy & too many tourists. I love Ankara, the musuem of Central Anatolia is really interesting. I found the masouluem to Ataturk,Anit Kabir, moving. Last year I caught the train from Ankara & visited Diyarbakir, Batman, Hassenkeyf & Van. I was on the train for 26 hours. I like Turkish trains even thought they are slow. I took fruit & wine. The train stops about every two hours & you can get off & buy fresh bread & cheese. Diyarkabir is like a wild-west town, overrun with children. I believe the norm ... Read the complete review

Knocking at Europe's door yet on the threshold of Asia, Turkey is truly a land of contrasts. Here you can scale the icy heights of remote Mount Ararat in search of Noah's Ark, cross the historic Euphrates and Tigris rivers, follow in the footsteps of St Paul or simply relax on the golden Mediterranean sands of Patara beach. Vibrant Istanbul, straddling the blue waters of the Bosphorus separating Europe from Asia, beckons with its skyline pierced by countless minarets, chaotic bazaars and a history redolent with harem intrigue and despotic Sultans. In Turkey, you can also cruise along more than a thousand kilometres of Mediterranean coastline, ... Read the complete review

I went to Turkey in early July of this summer. Me and two good friends, found a cheap ticket and we thought that we would grab the chance and go. I wish we wouldn't have... We arrived in Istanbul aiport early in the morning and we were amazed of how dirty it was.The people were quite friendly though and they helped us to find a find a taxi to our hotel. The second disappointment was the taxi driver:Not only he overcharged us(as we realised later) but he insisted on a tip-as if we owed him one-and when we gave him one(about 2 pounds)he mumbled that it wasn't enough! The city was nice-loads of historical sites and a very nice bazaar-but the poverty was ... Read the complete review
