Being an avid traveller and history freak i was chuffed to bits to be given the chance to go to Wahington DC. The thing that effected me the most and will live in my memory for ever waas not the usual, yes i enjoyed the white house and capital buildingand the pentagon. The one thing i will always remember was the Holocaust Museum and if you ever get the chance to go do. To get into it like many Washington attractions is free you just need to go and they will give you the next available ticket, i only had to wait half an hour.

On getting there you are given a passport which you read at different stages throughout the museum please do not read it in advanced as it would spoil this unique experience, i was an eight year old jewish girl.

The museum is over several floors and tells you absolulety every thing you need to know about the holocaust. there are many things there that will touch you deeply this are just a few. They have a corridor full of photos of people who were killed during this time, reconstructions of the gas chambers, photos and exhibits of some of the experiments they did to the jews etc to make them normal.

They have pictures of everything including how thin and feeble these survivors were when the ones luicky to survive were finally liberated.

This museum is very personnal and will effect people in different ways but i can guarantee the memory will stay with you forever.

As i got to the end of this museum i opened the final page of my passport book to find out i had been gassed, the girl was real and not just a character for me to play, it then hit home how many people were effected and i cried. At the end there are quite rooms to go in to contemplate what you have just witnessed.

I strongly recommend anyone to visit it is the most moving place i have ever visited and you will have a memory that will last forever
