Famous worldwide as the quintessential New England village, Woodstock has quite rightly been described as one of the prettiest towns in America. The downtown area is compact but full of quaint shops and galleries, making it perfect for browsing. This is one of the few American towns where I have actually seen a village green complete with ducks!
