WyomingNewest Review: ... towards Cody, this is another good drive with stunning scenery. Cody was my favourite place in Wyoming, a quaint town set in rolling countryside with a nice climate and the Buffalo Bill museum complex is very interesting for history on the whole region, it also has very entertaining displays and the gun museum was particularly enjoyable. There are a number of White Water rafting services going along the river which flows through town and these are great fun, you can also do canoing and hacks, the guide we had was a local and very experienced. There's a gunfight re-enactment in the High Street which is terrific, but try and look inc... more |

We went on a family fly drive holiday to Wyoming in July 2000. At that time there were no direct flights on offer from London to Denver (nearest large airport) so we had to change in O'Hare. This was, to be frank, a nightmare, so if there are alternative routes available then I'd advise you to take them. In the Denver airport they advertised direct flights to (I think) Frankfurt, which I thought at the time sounded a far more appealing change over spot than Chicago. I will give my opinion on the what I consider to be the best parts of the holiday. Travelling along the road going to somewhere(I can't remember where), we got caught up in a cattle drive. The cowboys were driving the cattle right across the highway, you had no choice but to stop! Our advantage being that we had a four wheel drive. The video footage of this experience is great, the noise of the cattle is deafening. Yellowstone Park is magnificent, far more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. ... Read the complete review

Be into rodeos and horses or don't go to Wyoming for an interesting visit. Other than Yellowstone Park, there isn't much else. Jackson Hole is a tourist trap, so be sure and have the big bucks if you spend any time there. The car rides through Wyoming get very boring and loooong!! It is dry and windy and not very enjoyable. During the summer months, there is a rodeo in every town you come to. It may be fun to watch one if you have never seen one before, but if it's not your thing, well there is not much else to do. The people are very friendly, the night temperatures are comfortable, and in a larger town you may find a museum or two, but it will be a ... Read the complete review
