Yeosu, which translates as 'Beautiful Waters', sits roughly halfway along the southern coastline of the Korean peninsula. Spectacularly located on the western periphery of the Hallyeo Waterway National Park, the coastline of the city is peppered with more than 300 islands, of which only 45 are inhabited. GETTING THERE BY AIR Yeosu Airport is situated 7 km to the north west of the city on the road to Suncheon. There are eleven flights a day to Seoul, which take one hour and cost in the region of thirty pounds for a single ticket, and one flight to Jeju Island, which costs twenty pounds for a forty-minute flight.
