Robin Hood's Bay:
... Hood s Bay is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places to visit in this country. Situated just a few miles south of Whitby, there is so much to see and do as well as beautiful landscapes to explore. Having just come back from my 4th trip there, I am eager to book my next trip away at the beggining of next year. Robin Hoods Bay itself is a small village full of lovely little shops, sweet shops, a few pubs... Read the full review: Visit Robin Hoods Bay, a quirky picturesque village just outside Whitby. Nationalpark Dartmoor ... and possibly the best ice cream shop in Dartmoor, which also sells pasties for cold days. Two Bridges - this is a very small town along the road from Postbridge, with a pub but most importantly with a car park in an old quarry. From here you can easily access the higher moor. There are several other small villages, and outside the National Park are larger places such as Tavistock, Newton Abbot and Okehampton. Wildlife The poster animal of the Dartmoor National Park is of course the Dartmoor Pony, and you can see why. They are a small, robust pony species, very pretty and quite placid, often standing only a few feet from you. I ve quite often stroked these when th... Nationalpark Dartmoor ... is a huge part of my growing up here in Plymouth. It s about a ten minute drive from where I live and I have to say that I take it for granted despite it being such a vast and beautiful place. It consists of just under 1000 square meters of landscape ranging from grass, animals, stones, roads and more grass. Take a kite and some golf clubs and some money for... Read the full review: A stunning place! by Claribella |

However, much of the human interest in the National Park is offered by its historical buildings, such as: - Peveril Castle, a tiny ruined hulk of a Norman Castle balanced on the hill above Castleton. English Heritage requests a sizeable entry fee, but even if you just want to look at it from the outside, it s quite an impressive relic. - Eyam - more famously known as the plague ...
