The background Haigh Hall is a large country house set in 250 acres of gardens and woodland close to Wigan. Back in the day the Earl of Crawford and Balcarres used to live there, but the grade 2 listed building and the grounds are now owned by the council and the house is hired out for functions and weddings - in fact I got married here, but more about that in a bit... What can you do? Visiting the grounds of Haigh Hall is free, so you are able to visit and walk around the gardens and the woods whenever you like.
