Last night saw the addition of this beautiful little machine in to my life. Are netbooks just a computer trend ??? Let s find out! The Aspire One has lots of competition, with the current range of netbooks varying from 7", £115 up to 10", £300+ machines. I would say the One falls solidly into the top half of the genre in all aspects. VLC player to watch films, it freezes alot. I bought it specifically for the internet and to watch movies in university so I chose to change my OS. One word VISTA!! I installed Vista basic and thought it would be slow but NO it ran smoothly and now I have installed many programs. VLC player works great, microsoft office runs well even though the RAM is only 512mb. So if you want a simple, easy to use netbook buy this as Linux has all the software installed in order to use the features. Or if you want to have a small laptop which runs Vista, office, internet and has a built in webcam I recommend this for ...

is no DVD drive thus installation of some software will be a little more tricky. Another thing that i noticed is the sound, which is i think is not so clear. The battery life is a little bit short for me (5-6 hours) who is an internet addict. Oh well, it will be good to bring an extra one just in case.
