Advantages: keyboard size and netbook size, diddy! Disadvantages: have to get a few codes to unlock things, then your set to go (: i am currently writing this review on my acer aspire one and with the decent sized keyboard, not a problem at all! it took a little while to convert to linux, but after some helpful hints and tips online i was able to unlock the full menu, allow downloads and get more out of my netbook, i was also lucky to find one of my uncles had an acer and he unlocked it even further for me, i now have msn, woo! the programmes such as (in windows language) word, edexel and publisher are near enough the same to an extent that creating a document is just as easy as using my old laptop. another point to make is the graphics ect, now i am no expert, but i have found the graphics clear and bright, the color schemes are plesant and look like windows, except for the menu, which i find easier to use as it takes up the whole home screen, this may be a pain for people who want to enter their files from the home page. over all i personally think that this is an excellent netbook for people who arn't game orientated, need tonnes of memory, uses the internet alot (connection is quick and easy, as is startup, i go on my parents computer an it feels so slow now, this acer is speedy!) and just wants a laptop to dose what you need it to and nothing more. ( i also found that i don't need the cd rom as memory is stored on sd/xd cards and pen drives!) Summary: overall great as a first netbook/laptop or if you want to downsize. |
