I have recently purchased the Acer Aspire One with 120gb of memory and 1gb of RAM from Tesco for £129.99 after seeing it advertised on www.hotukdeals.co.uk and I have to say that I am very impressed with it so far. I was after a small lightweight laptop mainly for use with the internet on the move and also to access documents when not at home and had considered a normal laptop but as they have lots of feature that I didnt want I decided to spend less money and just get the basics. When I saw the offer at the price I really couldnt resist it. Upon opening the box it was nice to see that a leather wallet was included which looks nice and keeps the ... Read the complete review

I used to own an Auss EEEPC 701, but traded it in for the Acer. I don't regret it one bit. The first thing you notice is the screen. Although only 8.9", is very clear and bright. The keyboard is also very good. The keys are large enough to be able to type properly, unlike the other netbooks. There are three USB2.0 ports, which is more than some full size laptops, 2 memory card readers (one is a throwback to the 8Gb model where you really needed to expand the storage capacity, although it's not needed on the HDD version). There's also LAN pot and a VGA out and WiFi. Mine came with an expanded 160Gb HDD. It runs on the Intel Atom N270 (2x800Mhz) ... Read the complete review

I recently picked up one of these Acer Aspire One laptops, thinking it could be used for the whole family as I also have a proper Mac computer of my own. I got it for about £130, brand new off Ebay and was impressed at this price. As you can tell, the Acer is like a netbook, a mini laptop. Very portable and smaller than the average laptop. *****APPEARANCE***** The Acer Aspire One looks very small and cute and could be used in the home, wirelessley. It's a white colour on the outside, white keyboard and a black colour round the screen. It looks very neat and tidy. It obviously comes with an instruction manual, charger etc. Also, it has a built-in ... Read the complete review

I bought one of these for each of my 2 kids. They are very simple and the desktop is divided into 4 sections for the type of functions you want to perform. They both start up quickly and operate commands almost instantly. The wireless function is great and the small size of the acer makes it easy to carry and feels sleek to the touch. The keyboard is more or less normal size so you can type comfortably. It has a built in webcam which allows you to record in decent quality. My kids love them. However there are some bad points. I would have preferred windows XP but that hiked up the price. It is difficult to download programmes unless you understand linux (which ... Read the complete review

I would not hesitate to recommend this to anybody that wants a good little reliable net book. We bought it because we only had an old desk top and found that as a family we were not spending a lot of time together because somebody was always upstairs on the computer. From taking it out of the box, we were up and running within 5 minutes, and we are not technical people at all! The net book is fantastic, because it is little enough to perch on your knee in the front room, and still be sociable. Linux is fab, practically the same as Microsoft Office, if that is what you are used to, and you can convert your old word and ... Read the complete review
