I bought this netbook for my partners birthday last month from Argos for the bargain price of £209, and I must say I'm really impressed! I'm going to split this review in two, firstly I want to talk about the look and feel of the netbook and then the technical aspects.
The look and feel of the netbook is great, I chose the lilac version of the netbook (as it was cheaper than the other colours, partner wasn't too impressed!) which is really vibrant. The first thing you notice when you look at it is how thin (less than 1") and light it is, hardly any weight to it at all, easily slips into your bag. The 10.1" screen is very clear and vibrant, this proberly has something to do with it being an LED LCD which is surprising for a netbook of this price but a more than welcome surprise. It has the usual mod-cons such as 3 USB ports, headphone / microphone sockets, Ethernet port and (cant remember the technical name) the port that allows you the connect it to your TV / other screen. Only draw back is that it doesn't have a disc drive, but most new netbook don't have these. If you really miss having one you can allows purchase an external disc drive.
Now lets get technical! The CPU is an Intel Atom N450 1.66ghz processor which is really quick and efficient. It also has 1GB ram which is plenty for doing a couple of tasks at once. The hard drive is a generous 250GB, I personally would never fill this but if you need more space external hard drives can be picked up now for next to nothing. The battery is an 6 cell Li-ion, to put this into context I can get around 3 hours of constant Internet surfing via wifi before having to recharge. As I just mentioned the netbook has wifi 802.11g/b/n which is perfect for surfing via a wifi connection. Others features include a 1.3mp web cam (perfect for skype), windows 7 starter / android dual load (great if you like android market apps).
So far we've had no problems with this netbook, and would highly recommend it. I would say if you are looking for a netbook that allows you to surf the Internet, listen to music videos, do word processing then this could be the one for you.
I brought a 'hawaii blue' acer aspire one happy netbook from argos 4 weeks ago for £230 and we are really pleased with it. We just wanted a laptop for using the internet and opening emails and this was ideal. The netbook does however have 1GB memory and a 250GB HDD for storing some photos/files which is useful. The netbook is very lightweight but the 10.1" screen is large enough to be clear and easy to read. Setting the netbook up originally was simple and hassle free, it only took about 30 minutes. We have been using WI-Fi and have had no problems as yet. The choice of colours available is good from pink to green to black. This model has a built in web cam and skype is already set up ready to use. There are 3 USB points and a card reader-all very useful!
I would say however if you are looking for a laptop to download music, play games or store lots of documents this may not be right for you. There is also no CD drive.
Overall though as a netbook it definitely does what it says on the packet!
