You can't go far wrong with this netbook (Asus Eee PC 1000H)

This is a really good little notebook. It's built really well, and feels rock solid, with nice materials and lovely shiny body (although yes, fingerprints are an issue!). My one issue with the design is that it probably isn't the most attactive of netbooks on the market, although it isn't that ugly!

The keyboard is very good, as it has full size keys, so it's not a pain to type on. The touchpad is also very good, it's accurate and of a good size, and allows gestures so you can scroll with two fingers etc, which is a nice touch, and makes web browsing really easy. The screen, although small, is perfect for what the machine is designed to do, and if you keep your toolbars and menus clutter free, you can end up with more than enough space for near to full size browsing, or work with office applications. Windows XP is fine as always, and it comes with openOffice preinstalled. Processing power is also pretty good - it can even handle high quality BBC iPlayer video in full screen - making it great for watching videos out and about.

The battery life is excellent - around eight hours, so you can use it all day, charge it overnight and then use it again - it's really useful having that much capacity. It also comes with a little slip case to protect it from small knocks and scratches, which is a nice touch.

Summary: A great netbook, with a nice set of features and excellent battery life.
