I recently bought the 1000H because I needed a nice little portable laptop to do my college work on. I'd searched around, looked at similar candidates but eventually turned to asus' offering.

The 1000H comes complete with windows xp, which works very well with no slowdown issues. The 1GB RAM is more than enough for running small applications and functions such as internet explorer and word processing.

The Intel Atom 1.6ghz processor is also powerful enough to run the above processes and more. The processor is almost a standard in most netbooks so you really can't go wrong here (tried and tested).

The last hard drive is also a plus - for those of you who don't know, 160GB can hold a whole lot. Sure, you can't hold hundreds of feature length movies but with 160GB you can hold thousands of music and picture files.

Built in wireless also works well and is very easy to set up with your home network. I had no problem connecting to wireless hotspots, either. The 10" screen is also pretty big for a netbook and just big enough for word processing and web browsing.

The think I like the most is the keyboard. Its no where near as cramped as previous netbooks I've tried and I only really get fed up after prolonged use (3 hours)+ Another impressive feature is the battery life, surpassing 8 hours normally, depending on what I'm doing.
